In conversation with Van ’t Hof Foodgroup
Van ’t Hof Foodgroup is a great example of entrepreneurship and growth. Six years ago, Albert took over the company from an elderly couple. At the time, the production of fresh chilled spring rolls was still small-scale and faced several challenges. But with determination and hard work, the team has grown the company into what it is today: a successful player in the market, with products now available on the shelves of various Dutch retailers.
From ‘doing it yourself’ to collaboration
Growth also brings new challenges, including the necessary certifications. For a long time, Albert followed the motto of ‘do it yourself,’ but during an audit, it became clear that there were shortcomings—particularly in labelling. Legislation around labelling is constantly changing, and although there was internal knowledge, it wasn’t sufficient to ensure everything was accurate and up to date.
That’s when Schouten Advies was brought in. The collaboration began with drafting product specifications, which went well. The support was soon expanded to include labelling and marketability reports—something many retailers ask for.

Growth with a new production line
A major milestone for Van ’t Hof Foodgroup was the commissioning of a new production line. Where all spring rolls used to be produced and labelled manually, this process is now largely automated. This makes scaling up easier and ensures more consistent quality.
In addition, the company works as much as possible with Dutch suppliers to guarantee the freshness and quality of the products—this being the core of their success. Van ’t Hof Foodgroup produces ready-to-eat spring rolls with chicken and recently added a roti spring roll to their range.

Future plans and ambitions
The growth doesn’t stop here. Van ’t Hof Foodgroup is investing heavily in product development and has the ambition to expand internationally. Their success in the Netherlands provides a solid foundation to explore foreign markets.
