Basic Training IFS Food or IFS Broker

The International Featured Standard (IFS) is a globally recognized quality and food safety standard established in 2003 by German retailers. It is designed to ensure the safety and quality of products in the food industry, covering both manufacturers and suppliers. As a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)-approved standard, IFS facilitates international trade by demonstrating compliance with universally accepted food safety requirements. The primary aim of IFS is to ensure transparency and compatibility throughout the supply chain, helping businesses comply with regulations and avoid liability claims. IFS certification is ideal for companies committed to high-quality standards and seeking to enhance their brand with certified safety and quality.

This training provides an introductory course on either the IFS Food or IFS Broker standard. IFS Food focuses on the production and processing of food products, while IFS Broker is tailored to the trading and distribution of food items.

Target Group
This training is perfect for anyone seeking foundational knowledge of the IFS Standard, including quality managers, food safety officers, traders, but also start-up companies and new members of quality teams.
Level: bachelor level (HBO) / upper secondary education levels (MBO+).

This 4-hour training session covers the following topics:

  • Quality Management System (including HACCP): The backbone of effective food safety practices.
  • Food Safety Culture: Developing an environment where food safety is a priority.
  • Compliance with Legislation: Overview of relevant Dutch and European regulations.
  • Certification Process: The steps and benefits of obtaining IFS certification.
  • IFS Standard Content: Key elements including the food safety and quality system, management responsibility, personnel management, operational processes, analysis, and continuous improvement.

The program can be customized to meet the specific needs of your company, and additional topics can be included upon request.

During this training, various practical cases, (group) exercises and realistic examples will be used to help participants better understand the concepts and applications. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate as proof of participation in the training.
