Training feed materials

Calamities in the animal feed sector are often caused by contaminants in raw materials. Knowledge of raw materials and insight into production processes and the regulations surrounding these products are of vital importance for the animal feed sector.

This training gives you more insight into the world of raw materials for animal feed. In one day, we want to raise your knowledge about legislation, origin, application and risks of the most important feed raw materials to a higher level, with the focus on food safety aspects. In this module we limit ourselves to the feed materials of vegetable, animal and mineral origin. Additives are not covered.

During the first half of the course, definitions and classifications of animal feed (feed materials), an overview of important legislation, the production processes of raw materials and the dangers and risks that these entail are discussed.

In the second half of the course we will zoom in further on the different product groups. An exhibition of samples provides visual support. The origins and applied processes are discussed, as well as the most important applications and food safety aspects. Every student receives a syllabus afterwards with more background information about the treated raw materials.

Target audience
Quality assurance staff, production staff, commercial staff and nutritionists of feed material manufacturers and compound feed producers.
