Training Raw materials for animal food

Incidents in the animal feed sector are often caused by contaminations in raw materials or ingredients. Knowledge of raw materials, insight into production processes, and the regulations surrounding these products are of essential importance to the animal feed sector.

This training provides deeper insight into the world of animal feed raw materials. In a single course day, we aim to elevate your knowledge about legislation, origin, application, and risks of the most important animal feed raw materials, with a focus on food safety aspects.

Target Audience
Quality control staff, production workers, commercial employees, and nutritionists from raw material producers or ingredients, traders in animal feed raw materials, and compound feed manufacturers.

Program
This training is limited to feed materials of plant, animal, and mineral origin. Additives are not covered.
The training lasts a full day.

During the first half of the course, the following topics are covered:

  • Definitions and classifications of animal feed ingredients
  • Overview of important legislation
  • Production processes of raw materials / ingredients
  • Hazards and risks in raw material production processes

Afternoon

In the second half of the course, we delve deeper into the different product groups, such as grains, minerals, oilseeds, dairy products, or animal products. These groups can be tailored to your products and activities. An exhibition of samples provides visual support. The origins and applied processes are discussed, as well as the main applications and food safety aspects.

Each participant receives a syllabus with more background information about the treated raw materials after the course.

Throughout this training, various practical cases, (group) exercises, and realistic examples are used to help participants better understand the concepts and applications. After completion, participants receive a certificate as proof of participation in the training.
